By way of introduction... Nestled in the hills between Silicon Valley and the Pacific Ocean, there is a big man-made hole in the ground. It is located just a little to the South of the towns of Los Altos Hills and Los Altos, and just to the West of Cupertino Following are some links to a few web pages that provide different insights into the history of this quarry, and its associated environmental impacts A series of aerial images of the quarry that span the 65-year period from 1948 to 2013.
