Wild Flowers at Westwind - Spring 2010

Earth Day and the Grand Re-Dedication of The Barn were occasion to get everything spruced up and ship-shape. A couple of buckets of weeds were pulled - all the better so that the wild flowers on the embankment opposite the 4H Barn could show off their finery

1361   The bird on the right has just collected some horse-tail hairs for nest building purposes. The blackbird on the left appears
somewhat amazed.

1364  A new wind-vane has been mounted on the old cupola-roof which was salvaged from the main barn.

1366  In the background can be seen a couple of large feed-buckets - filled with the weeds that were pulled!

1369  The main barn has had new cupolas fitted on the roof - but the original historic wind-vane was salvaged. It was sand-blasted and re-finished - and then re-mounted at its historic vantage point.
